Typically, that limited newsworthiness to tales about new products or services, new technologies, or important organizational news.Today, however, the concept of”information” has shifted dramatically. Publishing space is virtually infinite and publishers hungry for content. Today, many of the stumbling blocks have vanished that were between people creating news and the sockets that published it. The secret is writing something which will be of enough interest for someone to pick it up and print it.Picking a topicThere are far more things to write a news release around than you might think, beginning with the obvious: a brand new service or product, openings and closings, restructurings (partnerships, mergers and acquisitions), and employee/staff news. These themes generally can be considered”hard” information and worthy of broad distribution, when potential. You will find a host of different topics, but that lots of people don’t believe to market with a news release, but make perfect”soft” news releases. These themes include trade show and conference appearances, awards, business anniversaries, new client wins, capital equipment purchases, and new capabilities. Even though a business novel editor might consider these topics overly self-serving to warrant book, there are still good reasons to write a release onto them, as you will soon see.Creating your own news.
